Shinners Bridge Garden Machinery in Totnes, Devon became a fan of Farmtrac just last year after hearing about the brand through another dealer. Having already built a solid relationship with Reesink Agriculture, this word-of-mouth endorsement was all that was needed for Shinners to take on distribution.

Managing director Andy White explains: “We were looking for a compact tractor to add to our product portfolio. We have a lot of golf course and holiday park customers and a competitive compact tractor really appeals to them. A conversation with another dealer alerted us to Farmtrac and a quick call to distributor Reesink Agriculture is all it took to organise for a demo tractor to be brought down for us to look at.”

I’m impressed with the product, it’s a lot of machine for the money and covers a lot of budgets compared to competitors. We’ve had experience dealing with Reesink and they’ve always been a decent company to work with, very professional.

Andy chose two models to begin with – the FT26 and FT30 – to appeal to his customer base. He says: “These are what I’d call great entry-level tractors. They’re well laid out and they’ve been decent sellers, we’ve moved quite a few of them now.”

Such success so early on is no surprise to Andy: “We knew they’d do well because of the incredible build quality for the price. It’s proved to be an easy sell as soon as people see the product.”

Andy has tried different models and has nothing but praise for the additions to his inventory and has already ordered a FT6050, which is a larger horse powered model to extend his range.

Farmtrac has made a promising entry into the UK’s compact tractor sector during the pandemic, generating specific interest with its clean energy stance and electric tractor offering, the FT25. Its cutting-edge and innovative nine-strong smart-looking 22-113hp models incorporate world class components including transmissions designed and produced by Carraro and hydraulic systems from MITA, to deliver a superior performance whether cultivating soil, mowing or towing trailers.
